Spring Break 13

Spring break of 2013 was alright. I didn't go anywhere or really do anything except what I usually do. I got a lot more sleep, which is good. I also saw friends that I have not seen in like a couple of months since they went to college. Spring break helped me to really relax more, but it was not long enough. The good thing is I only have under thirty school days until summer.

Work hard Play hard

Work hard, play hard is something that really kind of hit me. I mean it’s not really much, but one day it just kind of dawned on me. When you work hard you can play hard. The work is practice and how much you put into practice. Once you start giving everything in practice, the better and smarter you are in the game.
I use to work so hard in the weight room and every rep I did on each set was important. I saw so much improvement in my strength and my fitness. When football practice came around, well I mean nobody likes practice that much, just the games. So, I never really gave it my all. Then I started noticing something. I started making the same errors in practice that I did on the field. Until I started noticing them in both the game and practice, and only when I gave it my all is when I started to correct them.
When the games rolled around, is when I started getting better. Sure I make mistakes every now and then, but I don’t make them as often as I use to. This is what play hard really means. I played harder and better than before.
The harder I worked, the better I played. I started really reading the guards in practice and my other tools to find where the ball was going.  Then wouldn’t you know it, I started reading the guards better in the game to and fly to the ball. Well go to the ball faster then what I had before.
Work hard, play hard can really go with just about anything. When you’re in class or cooking or whatever you do. The harder you work at something, usually the harder you work at something else. You start expecting more out of yourself. When I went to the Shiloh seven on seven, we were visited by two NFL football players. One of them said something very important and it was this statement: “Do the best you can. If you are a garbage man, be the best garbage man you can be.”

Experience helps with just about anything like when giving a speech, playing baseball, and so on. I know some of these things since I’ve had to do them.  First, well no body knows what to think when beginning something. Second, there comes practice. Third, there are the past experiences with the real thing.
When first beginning something, everyone gets the jitters because I did. I remember when I first started playing baseball. I was so scared of the ball because it flew by me so quick, especially on the pitching machine at six years old. Why? I didn’t really have any background in baseball. I barely knew how to swing the bat.
Practice can also be a little scary when you first start. You always kind of have those second thoughts. I defiantly had second thoughts when the kid in front of me came off the field crying because he got hit so hard.  Again, I didn’t know what I was getting myself into when I first started playing football. When you begin to practice, that’s when you start to get a feel for things and stuff kind of starts making since.
The real experience is the hardest. Practice and a real game are very different things. The more I experienced the ball going by me in baseball, the more I got a feel for it and started focusing not on getting hit by the ball, but actually hitting the ball.
The way experience can help you in life is when you’re tempted. When you are tempted and you experience it, you know. When you know, you can stop some of the temptation by stop doing this or stop going here and tempting yourself. The more you experience something, the better the understanding is.
Weight Lifting is one of the top ways to get in shape. One main reason is that it burns calories. The second reason is that it increases the metabolism, which tones the body. Another important thing weight lifting does is helps prevent osteoporosis.
Weight lifting burns calories. How does it burn calories? When lifting a weight in a certain motion, the heart rate exceeds the rate at which it was pumping if sitting or resting. Thus, burning calories.
When burning calories, weight lifting increases the metabolism. So this means that it burns calories both while and after the work out. Increasing the metabolism helps the body burn more and more calories.
Another important thing that weight lifting does helps prevent osteoporosis. Osteoporosis is something that accrues in weak bones. How does weight lifting help prevent osteoporosis? Weight lifting helps not only strengthen muscles, but bones to.
Weight lifting is a great way to stay and get in shape. Weight lifting helps make not only the muscles but the bones strong. This can prevent osteoporosis. Weight lifting also fires up the metabolism. The more the metabolism is going, the more calories that will get burned.

Strength over Technique

There has always been an issue wether a person should have strength or technique. For example, if there was a 250 pound all american linebacker in a fight with someone who is only 180 pounds who would be expected to win more than likely? The 250 pound linebacker of course. Which is more affective strength or technique?
MMA is a fast growing sport because most people like the thought of being able to just beat people for fun and it's legal. The sport requires fitness for sure. Most of the MMA fighters in the UFC are cut. They spar, learn different techniques, run to keep weight, and work out.
In 1882, Jigoro Kano started a thing called Judo. Judo, meaning the gentle way, was established by putting in all the techniques Kano had learned from jujitsu and other forms of combat and taking out punching and kicking. Well how is judo even categorized in fighting without punching and kicking? Judo is grappling, kinda like wrestling, but more difficult. Requires more technique. In Judo, the 250 linebacker could be thrown easily with his momentum.
MMA is a great way to keep a good life style. Fighters in the UFC or MMA are always working out or sparing because they want to destroy their opponent. Like the second Anderson Silva and Chael Sonnen fight. Anderson was probably training harder then ever because Chael just kept running his mouth.
Either way it can help your life style. Technique can be found almost anywhere. Not just in football or MMA. Not just in sports either, but how you make a cake.

Football

Football is a game everyone knows.  Some like to play it and watch it. I like to play it more than I like watching it. Some people are different and don;t even like football at all. Football is something that can make your life better and here is how.
Football is a physical sport. This requires physical fitness. The football player has to work out and run. This will get your body in a shape so you can live a better healthier life. All this though requires something.
Football requires a lot of time. There is practice, then after practice going and working out on your on. All this time is focused just on football, which is good thing. The less time you have in a day, the less time there is to go out and do something stupid like drugs or drink. Football also requires rest which also takes up time.
There is contact every single play.Since football is a physical sport, this also requires mental toughness. Mental toughness can be carried on and off the field. When someone is trying to get you to do something that could harm you, you can so no and stick with it.
Football is a game that can help you through life. Can help you stay away from drugs and other things. Football also teaches about mental toughness which can carry you through tuff times. Last, football can help with physical fitness so you can stay in good shape.
